Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers has been named the NBA's Most Valuable Player " MVP" for the 2022-23 season. The native of Yaounde Cameroun who immigrated to the U.S at sixteen years old becomes the 2nd NBA Player born in Africa to be named MVP since the season 1993-94.
