Israel Adesanya took care of Business to retain his middleweight belt in Houston. After losing his tittle in 2019, Whittaker had another chance 2 year later to once again crowned.
During the Pre-Game interviews the two opponents had nothing but mutual respect towards each other.
“ you guys have to understand from tough nationals to being in the UFC middleweight Champion this guy did a lot work and he ran through everyone " says Adesanya when acknowledging is oppenent progress.
The win over Whittaker was Adesanya's fourth defense of the middleweight championship since winning the belt in the first meeting with Whittaker.
"I knew he was going to bring everything because last time I took everything away from him," Adesanya said after the win. "He had nothing to lose. But, like I said, I'm the champ, you have to come and get it." says Adesanya.
